The spectrum resembles that of the broad line Type Ic SNe 2002ap and 1997ef about 10-15 days after light curve peak. A fairly good match is also obtained with that of a normal Type Ic event such as SN 2004ew (Taubenberger et al. 2006, MNRAS, 371, 1459) at a slightly earlier phase (3-5 days after maximum). We note that a prominent narrow interstellar Na I doublet is observed in absorption at the host galaxy redshift, with an EW = 3.6 A, suggesting significant line-of-sight reddening. The redshift of NGC 6798 is from Theureau et al. 1998, A&AS, 130, 333.

The transient (mag approximately 14.5) on one 40-s survey image (limiting mag about 19.5) taken by Xing Gao in Xingming Observatory Sky Survey(C42) around Sep. 03.70174, 2017, using a unfiltered CCD ( + Celestron C14 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope D=356-mm @f/6.9 ). The new object approximately located at R.A.=19h43m40.29s +56d06'36".3 (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 3.2" west and 2.3" north of the center of the NGC 6824. Nothing is visible at this position on archival image taken on Aug 22.72028, 2017 (limiting mag 19.5). All images can be seen from: http://www.xjltp.com/XOSS/PSP17B/PSP17B.htm.
