Given the low luminosity of SN2017ejb and its remote location, further observations are encouraged.

We measure a Si II velocity of about 16,000 km/s, implying the supernova was discovered soon after explosion, but the absolute magnitude at discovery was about -19, implying it was discovered near maximum light. Together, these could either indicate a young overluminous supernova or a high-velocity supernova at peak.

At the redshift of 0.0435, the absolute magnitude at the discovery was ~ -19 mag which is consistent with the Ia classification and its phase.

We measure the ejecta velocity to be roughly 24,000 km/s, consistent across features of CaII, MgII, FeII, SiII, and OI. This value is high even for a Ic-BL, but within the parameter space of previous samples (Modjaz et al. 2016, ApJ, 832, 108). We measure the redshift to be 0.032 based on narrow host galaxy hydrogen lines.

At the redshift, the absolute magnitude in g-band at the discovery (UTC 2018-11-02 07:12:00) is -18.5, which is consistent with the Ia classification and its phase. We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -11,000 km/s.

The absolute B-band magnitude taken at 2018-12-06 05:39:08 is -16.7. We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -15,000 km/s and a Ca II NIR triplet velocity of -23,000 km/s. The absolute magnitude and the broad features suggest this maybe as early as ~2 weeks before maximum.

The apparent magnitude reported by ATLAS upon discovery on 2018-12-08 13:59:31 was 18.712 , which corresponds to an absolute magnitude of -15.8 in ATLAS' cyan filter. We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -15,000 km/s and a Ca II NIR triplet velocity of -25,000 km/s. The absolute magnitude and the broad features suggest this maybe as early as ~2 weeks before maximum.

The best-fit redshift from both SNID and Superfit is 0.038. Verification of this redshift is difficult as there is no obvious host galaxy, either in images of the SN or in contaminating spectral lines, but the phase and distance modulus are in agreement with the ATLAS lightcurve. We measure a Si II velocity of about 10,000 km/s and a Ca II velocity of about 12,000 km/s.
