The spectrum features a blue continuum with prominent P-Cygni lines of H and He. Cross-correlation of the spectrum with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows a good match to the type-IIP SN 2014et at -3 days, confirming the results of Hosseinzadeh et al. (ATel 8748). The host redshift of z = 0.004 from numerous narrow interstellar emission lines yields an expansion velocity for the supernova of 10,700 km/s, measured to the trough of the H-alpha line. We thank K. Stanek (OSU) and G. Pignata (U. Andres Bello) for providing finding charts.

Andrew Howell, Stefano ValentiLCOGT SN-KPSN II0.0041LCOGT SN-KPUsing SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find a good fit to the Type II SN 2004et at -3 days at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.004; Lauberts & Valentijn 1989, The Surface Photometry Catalogue of the ESO-Uppsala Galaxies, via NED).

1392016-02-27 20:41:34SALT / RSS1933B. Miszalski (SALT/SAAO)S. W. Jha (Rutgers)None tns_2016aqf_2457446.362210648_SALT_RSS.dat tns_2016aqf_2457446.362210648_SALT_RSS.fitsObjectWe obtained SALT (+RSS) spectroscopy of ASASSN-16cc (SN 2016aqf) on 2016 February 27.9 UT, covering the wavelength range 360-920 nm.

17632018-03-06 19:21:14iairIair Arcavi, Griffin Hosseinzadeh, Daichi Hiramatsu, Curtis McCully, D. Andrew Howell, Jaime Burke (UCSB/LCO)Global SN ProjectSN II0.0029791Global SN ProjectWe report a FLOYDS spectrum obtained on 2018-03-06.4 UT with the robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the Las Cumbres Observatory 2-meter telescope on Haleakala, Hawai'i, in order to correct a previous classification of this object as a Type Ia-CSM supernova. The added resolution of the FLOYDS data compared to the spectrum reported previously clearly reveals the presence of narrow Balmer H emission lines atop a blue continuum, consistent with a young Type II supernova. Additional narrow emission features include He II 4686A and 5411A, C III 4648A, C IV 5801A, O III 3713A and 3749A, and possibly N III 4640A, similar to those seen in very early "flash spectra" of young Type II supernovae (e.g. Gal-Yam et al. 2014, Nature, 509, 471; Khazov et al. 2016, ApJ, 818, 3; Hosseinzadeh et al. 2018, arXiv: 1801.00015), and in early spectra of the peculiar Type II SN 1998S (e.g. Shivvers et al. 2015, ApJ, 806, 213). It is therefore still too early to classify this event as a Type IIn supernova (or as any other subcategory of the Type II class).
