Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to a Type Ia supernova 2-3 weeks after maximum light at the redshift of the host galaxy (z=0.045; Huchra et al. 2012, ApJS, 199, 26). A similar classification (obtained with different data) was first reported by Hounsell et al. (2016, ATel 8546). We find the spectrum to be highly reddened with E(B-V) ~ 1.1. Correcting for some of the host galaxy contamination we find that the SN magnitude is V~18.7 (corresponding to an absolute magnitude of -17.8 at the observed redshift).

The helium lines at 588 and 707 nm are clearly observed, with P Cygni minima corresponding to a velocity of ~7000 km/s. The helium line at 668 nm may also be present at the same velocity but blended with narrow H-alpha emission from the host.

After correcting for the redshift of the host galaxy, we measure an H-alpha velocity of -9400 km/s from the minimum of the P-Cygni absorption trough. We also detect a broad absorption feature to the blue of H-alpha at 6215 Angstroms, which is seen in some spectra of young Type II SN and has been identified as the Si II 6355 feature. The velocity of this profile would be -6700 km/s if its Si II.
