294252014-12-30 08:14:1717.65123.6ABMagR-CousinsCTIO-4m_DECAMThe r-band magnitude was calculated using APT and a reference star SDSS J102842.71-000803.4 http://skyserver.sdss.org/dr14/en/tools/explore/Summary.aspx?id=1237648721220731072 . This has a DECaLS r-band value of r=19.53. Because of the very strong source intensity of the transient, I calculated another magnitude value which used the total source intensity 66963 minus the source intensity of the host galaxy in December 2016 which is 12319. This gave a value of source intensity = 54644 for just the transient alone, as far as I could surmise. This calculation gave a r-band value = 17.87.

Both AppMag (m) r-band and g-band calculations were made, resulting in r-band as above and g-band = 19.8937. Because the visual image is of poor quality, Absolute magnitude values were calculated. Foreground extinction is included but K Correction is not. The AbMag (M) values are: r-band -18.011 and g-band -17.497, within errors of 1.

311202016-06-07 00:37:5919.26123.6ABMagR-CousinsCTIO-4m_DECAMThe Apparent magnitude was calculated by using APT and reference star: SDSS J131328.15+004140.7 http://cas.sdss.org/dr9/en/tools/explore/obj.asp?id=1237648722312495339 (DECaLS photometry). As the object is only visible in one DECaLS r-band cutout, additional calculations were made to find the Absolute magnitude, which is -18.46 (no K correction). This matches well with other known Absolute magnitudes for transients and so serves as confirmation.
