The PSN is visible on several images (limiting magnitude about 18.2) taken at 2017 12 13.88 UT from MPC K82. The new object is located at A.R. = 02h 11m 15.36s, Decl. = +37° 29’ 48.3” (equinox 2000.0, astrometry with respect to UCAC-4 catalogue) which is 24 arcsec west and 2 arcsec south of the center of Galaxy NGC 841. Checked Minor Planet Center for asteroids and VSX for variable stars.

The new object approximately located at R.A.=02h16m15.55s +28d35'28".7 (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 5.9" east and 30.3" south of the center of the NGC 865. Nothing is visible at this position on archival image taken on Sep. 13.93038, 2018 (limiting mag 18.5). All images can be seen from:http://www.xjltp.com/XOSS/PSP18C/PSP18C.htm. Green, Harvard University, report that a spectrogram (range 383-717 nm, resolution 0.3 nm) of PSN J02254889+1832000 = 2011ek, obtained on Aug. 7.41 UT with the 1.82-m Plaskett Telescope of the NRCC, shows it to be a type-Ia supernova before maximum light. Comparison with a library of supernova spectra using the "superfit" matching program of Howell et al. (2005, Ap.J. 634, 1190) indicates that 2011ek is a normal type-Ia supernova most similar to SN 2002bo at 11 days before maximum light.
